In English Language Programs, we develop our own assessments. These tools are designed to help us identify students’ needs and match them to the best resources for the development of their English language skills.
The Graduate School and departments determine assessment requirements, and advisors and administrators use assessment results to inform their advice to students.
Incoming Testing
Test of Academic English for all incoming students identified by their programs and/or the Graduate School.
Instructional Readiness
Practical teaching assessments to examine the skills of those who will take on instructional roles at Washington University. Students complete the instructional readiness assessment in accordance with their program or department.
